After upgrading to 2018.2 version client reports changed functionality of DEL button. Now when pressed it deletes content of whole cell regardless all text is selected or not.

Yes. Desktop client only. In our case it is Text field.
It also happens in Date of Number fields. I asume, it happens in general in every field that allows typing in it.
This is a result of redeveloping the text-box. It used to be a third-party component while now it is 100% ORIGAM code. It might have been intentional for the date field (the old date field worked like that) but probably not for the text and numbers. Will check it out.
Fixed in the latest release.
