The lookups are usually generated via wizard. A dedicated data structure is always generated with it. In the light of Limits on SQL generation of lookup fields, wouldn’t it be nice to automatically generate data structure entities with prefix lookup to prevent need of renaming? Of course this wouldn’t solve the case of a lookup field in a lookup.
