Screen crashes when too large number is entered into an integer or currency field

When a too large number is entered into a text box based on a field with data type integer, float or currency, the screen crashes with the following error:

TypeError: e.split is not a function

Might be connected to Tooltip for read-only fields in form view. Occurred in version 2021.1.0.2210, in version 2021.1.1853.0 it works fine.
